The Cane Corso is a mastiff from Italian descent. The breed has been highly regarded as guardian, working, and hunter dogs, as well as, a great companion dog that loves to stay close to their owner. The Cane Corso has a calm, and stable temperament and are easily trained when the needed effort is taken by the master. They socialize with humans well, but not always with other dogs (especially larger and of the same sex).

The Cane Corso is well known for being the more muscled, athletic looking of the mastiff family. The average weight of a Cane Corso is between 88 adn 110 pounds. The large size of the Cane Corso's head gives them the ability to have superior bite strength. Many breeders and owners crop the Corso's ears and dock the tails. The coat of a Cane Corso can appear either black or fawn. Genetic dilution has also created blue and formentino coat colors. The coat colors can also appear brindled, creating black brindle, blue brindle, and tigrao (full brindle). The Cane Corso has a black nose in all coat colors, except for blue dogs that have a grey nose.

This is beautiful. The color is perfect and the head is lovely and aristocratic. This and picture #21 appeal to me.

Daisy Kay says:

I love the mastiff, but I like the more elegant look with slightly longer legs. not quiet so stocky as the English mastiff. Would this describe the Neopolitan Mastiff?
